i think reverently has to do with a feeling.
ReplyDeleteI've heard reverently used in church. For example, "the priest reverently bowed to the altar." So I agree that this is used to mean out of respect or admiration.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lowell. I hear it used most in church. Although according to dictionary.com it also can be said as reverense or reverent, describing mannerisms.
