I looked it up on dictionary.com and gizzard is a thick-walled, muscular pouch in the lower stomach of many birds. So it is probably an undesirable piece to eat
I think that a gizzard is the fatty part in the chickens stomach that helps it digest its food.
I think the gizzard is the internal innards to the turkey
