Perimeter

"They crawled on their stalk legs around the curved perimeters of the glass as
if the world had shrunk to that jar."


I think that this word means edges or sides.

    in math we have to calculate the perimeter of the pool or other examples like that.

    www.wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn says that perimeter is the boundary line or the area immediately inside the boundary.
