wigwam

Elements of Literature

p.38

"In the morning, when they understood that my child was dead they sent
for me home to my master's wigwam."

I think that wigwam is an Indiam dwelling of some sort; maybe like a tepee.

  2. When searching wigwam it came up as being used in a musical called Spring Awakening. In that context it was used to describe something for childreen to go and "hide" in.

  3. I agree that a wigwam is an Indian home. I remember learning about them in preschool.
