I think crimson means, a terror or horror. It can be used as a adjective to describe a persons expression or feelings.

    I think this is also a shade of the color red, i've heard it used in a song once describing a crimson heart. It could be different but I feel like the color crimson is describing the rose in this quote.

    Dictionary.com says that it means a deep, purplish-red.
